The staffing agency is called winston resources. I was wondering what do they need this Information for? It seems like alot and I haven’t accepted any jobs yet from them. I didnt have to go through this with other agencies. I don’t have a problem bringing in the info, BUT I don’t want a case of ID fraud/theft neither. Any advice? I checked them out on www.hovers.com and they do have a profile. So I was just wondering. Any advice? They also are offering some kind of test. I am just curious.
The company’s web address is: http://www.winstonresources.com/

Yes, this is standard procedure. If this is an employment agency, then they may likely be placing you into a position or positions in the future, but they first must verify that you are legal to work in the U.S. To do this, employers need either: (1) a passport , or (2) a driver’s license and SS card.
They have to fill out an I-9 form, which requires LEGAL documentation that you are a U.S. citizen.

You should look up form I-9 on the web, and see what you are required to show to an employer.
You should take the documents in case you accept a job on the spot. If you have the documents, you can fill out the I-9 and other documents, and start right away.
I would take the documents to the interview, but I would refuse to show them unless I was offered an actual job, and I was going to accept the job.

Not sure what state you are in, but i am in wisconsin. In all of my employers you have to bring those for a copy for their files. I think that is for when like some government agency comes along for elegal aliens, they have the proof that all their employees are legal. the test sucks. Most likely it is for establishing a “personality profile” of you. a lot of businesses have these to establish if you are an asset to their company. for a lot of businesses they automatically don’t hire you if you don’t “pass” this “test” which i find kinda stupid. but that is in wisconsin like i said.

…I am a green card holder but even that, I was never asked to show my ID until my job is offered and secured….
